List of works by author Renata Młynarczyk
My name is Renata Młynarczyk. I was born in 1963 in Krakow. I became interested in photography many years ago. I have been dealing only with traditional photography for 7 years. During this time, I worked with various medium and large format cameras, learning about the wide possibilities of cameras, optics, various photosensitive materials and methods of their processing. All processes from the preparation of the session, pressing the shutter to getting the image on paper, I make myself. I am not interested in industriality, repeatability and the possibility of producing an infinite number of subsequent copies of photographs. I think only about the separate, individual life of a single photographic print on paper, resulting from the creative act. Noble techniques have become my favorite technique of obtaining the image, especially the gum bichromate technique. Gum bichromate is one of the first techniques that enabled faithful reproduction of reality thanks to photosensitive matter. Her pedigree dates back to France at the end of the 19th century. Unlike most traditional photographic techniques, it does not use the photosensitivity of silver or iron salts, but uses the unusual properties of chromium salts that cause organic colloids to change their properties under the influence of light. Each print is unique and constitutes a separate work. I mainly deal with portrait photography and artistic act. I treat it as an intimate meeting of another person with their space and otherness. Not hurrying, I am looking for individual aesthetic images that will satisfy the senses. I have had several individual and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. My works are in the collections of private collectors in Paris, the United States, Sweden and Poland. I have participated in many international photographic competitions obtaining high recognition and awards. I conduct educational classes sharing extensive knowledge in the field of traditional photography, large format cameras, and noble photographic techniques .
